Fife-based photographer Kit Martin blurs the lines between art and science in a new exhibition that highlights the creatures that inspired, over a century ago, a University of St Andrews professor’s quest to take to the skies. Using winged specimens from the Bell Pettigrew Museum, named in honour of the local aeronautical pioneer, Martin provides a contemporary lens through which to appreciate both the art, and science, of flight.

You can also experience full 360° videos and photospheres with the highly anticipated Samsung Gear VR headset located at the exhibition. Feel the freedom of flight and enjoy the views of St. Andrews as Pettigrew would have seen them from his flying machine.

The exhibition is located at the Gateway Galleries at the University of St. Andrews and will run from March 12 through May 15, 2016.
